Anyang Institute of Technology(AIT) is located in Anyang city, a famous historical and cultural tourist destination and one of the eight ancient capitals of China. Anyang lies in the north of Henan province and is close to Shandong, Hebei and Shanxi provinces. Easy access to almost every corner of the country is provided by a well-developed transportation network, such as Beijing-Guangzhou railway, Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao expressway running from the north to the south, and Changzhi-Yunzhou railway and Nanle-Changzhi expressway from the east to the west. Anyang boasts an array of cultural heritages. For example, it is home to the Oracle Bone Inscription, the birthplace of “Zhou Yi”, and the birth place of General Yue Fei of Song Dynasty. Here you can also find the mausoleum of Caocao, the founder of State Wei during the period of the Three Kingdoms; the Hongqi canal along Taihang Mountain, and the National Museum of Chinese Writing.

Anyang Institute of Technology is a public, regular full-time undergraduate college founded in 1983. Formerly known as Anyang University offering associate degrees, the institute was upgraded to undergraduate college in May 2004 with the approval of the Ministry of Education and adopted the current name Anyang Institute of Technology. In November 2013, it successfully passed the Undergraduate Teaching Evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education. In 2017, we were granted permission by Ministry of Education to initiate post-graduate degree programs and we are currently in the process of preparing for the qualification to confer Master’s degrees.AIT is one of the nine universities nationwide and the only one in Henan that have produced pilot students. It is a standing member of China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association, a standing member of Sino-German Higher Vocational Education Committee, a member of the Union of China Cotton Industry, a member of Sino-American Cooperation on Higher Education and Professional Development. AIT has been honored with such titles as “Provincial Civilized Institute”, “Model University with the Best Brand Influence in Henan”, “Top 10 Exemplary University in Henan for Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, “Exemplary Higher Education Institution in Graduates Employment Quality in Henan”, “Top 20 Leading Higher Education Institute in Overall Strength”, “Most Competitive Institute in Students Employment in Henan”, “Excellence Award for Innovative Outcome of China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration”, and a “Leading Institute in Henan for the Introduction of Overseas Intellectuals and Recruitment of Foreign Experts”.

The Institute covers an area of 100ha(including the Technology Park), with a total construction area of 650,000㎡. Its teaching, experiment and research equipment and instrument is worth 540 million yuan. The library has a collection of over 2.03 million paper books, 1.51 million electronic books, 510 paper journals and over 23,600 electronic journals in Chinese and foreign languages.

AIT has a total enrollment of 24000 students including graduates, undergraduates and junior college students. There are 21 teaching departments, offering 59 undergraduate programs on eight categories: engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law, arts, and agronomy. Among our 1600 faculty members, 448 teachers are professors or associate professors. 1235 teaching staff have Master’s or Doctoral degrees. About 80 teachers enjoy special national or provincial allowances or with honored titles such as academic and technological leaders and Outstanding Talents in Science and Technology Innovation.
